Sree Mullapudi Venkataraya Memorial Polytechnicat Tanuku, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh was established byKalaprapoorna Dr.Sree Mullapudi Harischandra Prasad garu a well known Industrialist and Philanthropist with a noble idea to provide Technical Education at the door step to rural population in the name of his grand father Shir Mullapudi Venkatarayudu .It is one of the oldest Polytechnic institutes in India. Also,the Government of Andhra Pradesh in order to provide high quality learning experience and opportunities to students has introduced Skill Development Centers (SDCs) in the year 2011.As part of its efforts, the Government has chosen this Polytechnic as a Skill Development Centre as far as West Godavari District is concerned. It is 110 km from Vijayawada and 45 km from Rajahmundry. It is connected both by Rail and Road.
